Leam Lane Community Centre should be at the heart of the community providing a sustainable, secure, diverse and accessible space that is valued and supported by the people of Leam Lane and the surrounding area.
Mission
Our mission is to promote, enable and facilitate activities, which embrace and address the local needs of its community and members in a safe, friendly environment regardless of age, ethnic background, sexual orientation, class, family status or physical/mental disability.
Aims and Values
We aim to:
Keep the building available, accessible and safe for the use of local people and others.
Enable a range of social, welfare, educational, training, development and health activities to take place at the Centre which responds to the needs of local people.
Provide access to advice and information for all sections of the community.
Consult with the local community so that we keep up to date with
local issues and where possible, advocate and support the local community.
Be financially sustainable.
Our Values:
Good – the centre aims to provide 'a good' services for the local community. We strive to achieve and maintain this level of quality in all of our work, to the best of our ability and knowledge
Accountability – Although the centre is managed and run by local volunteers (unpaid) we feel a responsibility to be as responsive to our member’s needs and wishes
Equality – the Centre is committed to eliminating discrimination in the
local community and community centre
Financial Sustainability – the Management Committee believes that stability of finance and excellence in management, are essential for the ongoing sustainability of the Centre.
Mutual Respect – The Management Committee treat everyone involved and connected with the Centre with the respect they deserve.
